Content

The course emphasizes on the basic and advanced bioprocess engineering focusing on food biotechnology, industrial food processing and biopharmaceuticals products. These will be divided into the following topics: - Milestone of bioprocess engineering: biosystem & its engineering - Bioprocess development: upstream, downstream and bioreactor - The regulation of synthesis of microbial metabolite - Primary metabolic pathways and metabolic flux analysis - Applications of bioprocess engineering to non-conventional biological system for production of biopharmaceuticals - Starter culture technology - Microbial growth and bioreaction kinetics - Bioreactor design, instrumentation and control - Bioprocess optimization and scale-up - Bioprocess innovation for food beverages production - Downstream processing for food products
